No original window glass from this period has come down to us. However, written sources testify to the use of glass windows in churches. When money was no object, very thinly polished alabaster or muscovite (white mica) was also used in windows.

Glass windows undeniably bring comfort to our northern lands. The harsh climate is kept at bay, whilst light enters. And by looking out of the window we keep in contact with the world.
