DThe oldest technical descriptions of glass production known to us have been found in the library of the Assyrian King Assurbanipal (669-627). They set forth in great detail the basis composition of glass, how to colour it, and how to build a glass furnace. It also describes the rituals surrounding the production of glass – which was a divine art!
