Window glazing

tells us many things about the history of a building, its architect, and its owner. It determines in great part the character of the windows and thus the appearance of the façade. Our challenge is to keep that culture alive through new developments. Thus Van Ruysdael has innovatively "fused" technical qualities with the beauty of drawn glass, or authentic, hand blown cylinder glass.

Traditionally crafted cylinder glass

is typical for windows from before 1920. Each pane is handmade and therefore unique. Cylinder glass is easily recognized by its characteristic irregularities.

Drawn glass

is standard between 1920 and 1960. It has a slightly irregular structure, with occasional slight ‘drawing lines’. This enhances the liveliness of the façade.

Modern float

glass becomes the norm from around 1960. This glass is almost entirely even, and consequently can be easily recognized by its harsh reflections. Double glazing usually consists of float glass.

High Performance Insulation Glass

is thin glass with a 0.2mm vacuum cavity, ensuring exceptional insulation. Only the MicroCap ® betrays the remarkable properties of HPI.
