Van Ruysdael glass
Van Ruysdael is the founder of universally protective single glazing, with the most, best and most beautiful performances for preserving windows in existing buildings from before 1965.
Thinner, lighter, more beautiful and most performing
The great challenge of Van Ruysdael glass: going beyond the best insulating glazing.
Van Ruysdael glass is not only thinner, but also lighter, stronger and better.
The result offers positive efficiency, more energy savings, better sound insulation, lowest exploitation and up to ten times longer life span. This is the first glass that combines comfort with healthy indoor climate, safety, UV protection, environmental and cultural preservation. It fits and strengthens existing wooden or steel windows. It beats moisture. And, it makes compensating insulation materials and climate control techniques unnecessary. Everyone gets on with it.
Cultural preservation
Van Ruysdael glass uses original traditionally manufactured glass as a base and consists of the best quality and most sustainable materials. What’s more, it's thickness – or should we say ‘thinness’ – down to 6,5 mm means that Van Ruysdael glass can be fitted in the original window frames, thus retaining and preserving the existing windows and architectural features.
Van Ruysdael Collection
Van Ruysdael's collection is divided for you into three main building periods: traditional (pre-1920 glass), classic (glass used between 1920 and 1960) and modern (post-1960 glass). Once you know the building period, you can search the collection to find which glass performance best suits your specific building style and requirements.
Van Ruysdael Traditional
Mouth-blown cylinder glass and other traditional forms of glazing are all unique in their own way and characteristic for windows that were installed before 1920. Our traditional glass is immediately recognisable by its charming unevenness and reflections that are characteristic of this period.
We are happy to share this beauty with you.

Van Ruysdael Classic
Our original classic glass is still produced using traditional production methods of the 1920s, 1930s and 1950s. As each period features its own characteristic types of glass, it is not a good idea to mix different types. In other words, you have to make certain the glass properly matches the building’s architectural style.

Van Ruysdael Modern
Making its market debut in 1960, modern floatglass is almost entirely flat, recognisable by its clearly defined reflection. It may be a deliberate choice or one that suits a particular design, but remember that modern glass installed in stylish pre-1960 facades can make them appear lifeless.
